  • Message Cancellation
    You can cancel sent messages in MalangMalang Talkafe.

    If you click on the Trash icon before the recipient reads the message, canceled messages are deleted from the chat room and cannot be read by both the sender and the recipient.
  • Whisper
    Send 'Whisper' if you want to send individual messages to a specific friend within a group chat.

    There are two ways you can choose individuals when sending 'Whisper'.
    You can send a message after selecting a friend with the method below.

    Method 1. Tap on the friends name in the chat room.
    Method 2. If you tap on the name of the group chat room. A list of friends will appear. Tap on the name of the friend to whom you want to send a whisper.
    Selected whispers will be disabled after sending a whisper once.
    If you would like to continue to carry out a private conversation (in Whisper), tap on the pin icon on the right.
  • Message Timer
    Message Timer is self-destructing messages that disappear after a specified amount of time.
    It's a fun feature that enables users to send secret or important messages while protecting privacy at the same time. You can also use it just for fun.
    Pop messages only can send as text messages and pictures.

    ▶ How to send Message Timer.
    1. Select the Bomb icon next to the message insert box.
    2. Choose the amount of time (range from 1 to 99 seconds)
    3. Type in the message and press send.
  • Message Reservation
    Message Reservation is scheduled messages that can be sent at a specified time.
    All types of messages (Contact, Videos, Photos, etc.) can be sent through Message Reservation with the exception of gift messages. (Not available in Group Chats)

    ▶ How to send a Message Reservation.
    1. Tap on the bomb icon in the insert box.
    2. Tap on the egg icon at the bottom left.
    3. Simply choose '10 minutes later', or '20 minutes later', or Tap 'Detailed Settings' and select a specific time.
    4. Type in message and press send.
    5. You can cancel Message Reservation before the time elapses by pressing Trash icon on the left.

    * You can disable the Message Reservation feature by tapping on the capsule icon located next to the message insert box.
  • Multi Profile / Video Profile
    MalangMalang Talkafe supports a multi-profile function where you can upload up to 6 profiles with their own photos and videos.

    ▶ How to upload multi profiles
    1. Go to 'My Profile' > 'Edit Profile' under 'Friends List', or 'View more(···)' > 'Settings' > ' Edit My profile'.
    2. Press the [+] button under 'Profile Settings' to add new profiles.
    You can add up to 6 photos/videos in multi profiles. Profiles will be ordered by uploaded date, and the most recently added profile will be set as the default profile.
    3. If you want to set a previously uploaded profile as the default profile, tap on the profile picture which previously uploaded and press the top right menu button, followed by 'Set as default profile'.
    4. If you want to delete a profile, tap on the profile picture, press the top right menu button, and press 'Delete'.
  • What is Public Profile and Secret Profile?
    On Talkafe, you can set two different profiles, each shown to a specific group of friends.
    ▶ Public Profile is a default profile that is shown to all friends.
    If you do not use a secret profile, the photo and name in your public profile are shown to every friend.
    ▶ You can set a secret profile to show your special profile picture to your selected friends.
  • Translation Function
    MalangMalang Talkafe provides a translation function.

    ▶ How to translate another user's chat
    1. Click the text you wish to translate for a few seconds and choose the desired language in the menu. A translated version of the text will appear below it.
    2. To delete the translated text, click the sentence for a few seconds and choose cancel translation in the menu to delete the translated version.
    (The original text will not be deleted and remain the same.)

    ▶ How to send a translated chat to another user
    1. Click the [+] button to the left of the chat window and choose 'gene talk translation'.
    2. Choose the chat language and translation language at the top and enter the text, and then click the check button at the bottom.
    To use the translated text, click 'send talk' at the bottom.
    3. When the translated text appears in the chat window, you can revise or click the 'send' button to send the message as it is.
  • Delete Chat Rooms & Secret Talk
    MalangMalang Talkafe provides 2 functions to protect your privacy.

    ▶ Remove all chat rooms within a given time : Delete Chat Rooms
    ▶ Encrypting all talk! : Secret Talk

    [How to use Delete Chat Rooms function]
    1. Once you create a group chat room, the ‘Group chat settings’ button will appear.
    Here, click 'Group Chat Room Information Setting' button > Check 'Delete Chat Rooms' > Set date and time
    2. Click the menu button [≡] in the group chat room > Turn 'Delete Chat Rooms' ON > Set date and time
    Delete Chat Rooms function is only available to group chat rooms & chat room manager

    [How to talk using the Secret Talk function]
    1. Press [+] on the bottom of the talk menu, and select the friend to talk with by selecting 'Secret Talk'.
    2. Secret Talk Room is displayed as a key icon on the talk list.

    See details on Secret Talk in 'Settings > Customer Service > Help > Talk'.
  • Talk search & search by date function
    No need to scroll up infinitely in the chat room to find past chat anymore.
    You can easily find your chat by searching for a certain word or selecting a date.

    ▶ Search for a word in the chat room
    Touch the magnifier on the top right of the chat room > Type in the word & search
    * Search will be performed by most recent chat. You can press the up & down button on the bottom to navigate to a different part of the chat.

    ▶ Search for chat on a certain date
    Touch the magnifier on the top right of the chat room > Tap again > A calendar appears on the bottom. Select the desired date.
  • I cannot cancel messages
    Messages cannot be canceled if the recipient has already checked the message.
    Trash icon will disappear after the message is checked by recipient
  • I want to change the name of the chat room, background color, and font size.
    ▶ How to change the chat room name
    Tap top right menu button > 'Settings' > 'Chat Room Name' in the chat room you would like to re-name and change.

    ▶ How to Change default chat room background
    Tap More(···) > 'Settings' > 'Wallpaper Settings' and set the wallpaper by choosing [Choose from Album], [Camera], and [Set Wallpaper Color].

    ▶ How to change individual chat room background
    Tap top right menu button > 'Settings' > 'Set Wallpaper Color' and set the wallpaper in the chat room you would like to change the wallpaper.
  • How do I add favorite chat rooms?
    You can add frequently used chat rooms in your favorite list to manage them in your recent chat list through 'favorite chat rooms.'

    1. In the recent chat list, Right-click the chat room and select ‘Add to bookmark’.
    2. Go to the chat room you want to add to favorites > press menu button at the top right > set 'favorite' to 'ON.'
  • How do I start a group chat?
    ▶ Creating a new group chat room
    1. Press the top right [+] button and choose friends. you would like to start the group chat in the recent chat list.
    2. Press 'OK' button on the top right side to start a group chat.

    ▶ Inviting friends to an existing chat room
    1. Press Top right menu button and 'Invite Friend' button in the chat room you would like to invite the friends.
    2. Choose friends you would like to invite, Press 'OK' button on the top right menu to to create a group chat room.
  • I want to change alert chat room alert settings.
    ▶ When I don't want to get alerts for individual chat room room.
    Chat Room > Click the bell icon on the top right and turn notification OFF

    ▶ When I don't want to get alerts for all chat room room.
    Main Screen > Click the bell icon on the top right and turn notification OFF
  • I want to delete chat rooms that I do not use.
    How to delete the chat rooms that I do not use.

    Method 1. In the Recent Chat List screen, right-click the chat room > select Exit.
    Method 2. Chat Room > Menu button [≡] on the top right > Press Exit button.

    Even if you delete a chat room, others in the chat room can see the content of the chat room until they delete the chat room themselves.
  • I want to delete the entire Chat history.
    ▶ How to delete the entire chat history
    Touch the Chat Room you wish to delete, and Top right menu > 'Settings' > 'Delete Chat History' button.

    Even though you have deleted the Chat history, the Chat history will be deleted by yourside, but will still be shown to your friends if he/she has not deleted the chat room.

    ※ You can delete chats in both 1:1 chats and group chats.
  • I would like to change Delete Chat Rooms setting.
    ▶ Disable Delete Chat Room setting
    Group Chat Room > Click the menu button [≡] on the top right > Turn Delete Chat Room OFF

    ▶ Change date and time of deleting chat rooms
    Navigate to See More in Group Chat Room > Select Delete Chat Room > Change date & time
  • How do I change the line(row) when typing in the chat room?
    If 'Enter' key is used to send message, you can change line(row) by pressing Shift + Enter.

  • I don’t want to see the notification window.
    See More(···) > Settings > Notification > Notification Settings > Select 'Notification Sound' only
  • Can I send files, video files and audio files on PC version?
    You can send documents, videos, audio, images and zip files on Talkafe PC version.
    Sent & received files are displayed on both PC & mobile version.
    You can send files by selecting them pressing the Send File icon in the chat room, or by dragging them to the chat window.

  • Can I set my chat room to be transparent?
    ▶ If you want to set transparency for a given chat room:
    Set transparency by moving the transparency slider in the title bar located on the chat room's top right.

    ▶ If you want to set transparency for all chat rooms:
    Set transparency & apply to all chat rooms by selecting 'See More > Settings > Chat Screen > Transparency slider'.
  • I would like to change my font.
    Select your desired font in 'See More > Settings > General Info > Set Font'.
    The program will be ended to apply the selected font, which will close all chat rooms and cancel file sending or saving.
  • How many pictures can I send on my PC?
    You can send max. 20 pictures on your PC at a time.
    Other file formats can be sent only 1 at a time.
    You can send max. 200MB of JPG, JPEG, bmp, png, tif, tga, psd.

  • I want to add close friends as Favorites.
    You can manage friends you chat with often separately in 'Favorites' category in 'Friends list' if you add them as 'Favorites'.

    Method 1. Press the star icon ★ on the friend's profile.
    Method 2. Right-click the friend > Add to Bookmark
  • How do I hide a friend?
    What is a hidden friend? A hidden friend is someone you are still friends with, but does not appear on your Friends list.

    ▶ Hiding a friend
    Click the ‘Hide’ button that appears when you right-click the friend on the ‘My Friends List’ screen.

    ▶ Unhiding a friend
    Tip 1. You can unhide a friend in the 'See More(···)' > 'Settings' on the top right > 'Manage Friend' > 'Manage Hidden Friend' menu.
    Tip 2. You can unhide a friend in the 'My Friends list' > 'Settings' on the top right > 'Manage Hidden Friend' menu.
  • How do I block a friend?
    What is a blocked friend? Blocked friend does not appear on your Friends list. Also, you don't receive messages from a blocked friend.

    ▶ Blocking a friend
    Click the 'Block' button that appears when you right-click the friend on the ‘My Friends List’ screen.

    ▶ Unblocking a friend
    Tip 1. You can unblock a friend in the 'See More(···)' > 'Settings' on the top right > 'Manage Friend' > 'Manage Blocked Friend' menu.
    Tip 2. You can unblock a friend in the 'My Friends list' > 'Settings' on the top right > 'Manage Blocked Friend' menu.
  • I would like to re-add a hidden/blocked friend to my Friends list.
    Tip 1. You can unhide/unblock a friend in the 'See More(···)' > 'Settings' > 'Friend' > 'Manage Hidden/Blocked Friend' menu.
    Tip 2. You can unhide/unblock a friend in the 'Menu button ([≡])' on the top right > 'Settings' > 'Friend' > 'Manage Hidden/Blocked Friend' menu.
  • I have an unknown friend in my friend list
    An unknown friend may appear if one of your friends has deleted his/her MalangMalang Talkafe account.
    You cannot send or receive messages from an unknown friend.

  • My friends have disappeared.
    ▶ If some friends have disappeared:
    1. If a friend leaves Talkafe, he/she will disappear from your friend list.
    2. Check your Blocked/Hidden Friend list.
  • I searched someone’s email ID/Talkafe ID to add as a friend, but it is not found.
    If the friend has disabled search of his/her email ID/Talkafe ID, this information cannot be found.
    Tell your friend to enable search of his/her email ID/Talkafe ID.
  • How can I add a chat participant as a friend?
    Select profile image of the chat participant > Send Friend Request
    * Participant is only added as a friend if friend request is accepted.
  • How can I disable search of my email ID/Talkafe ID?
    Please refer to the below for disabling search of your email ID/Talkafe ID.
    Tip 1. My Profile > Edit Profile > Disable "Allow others to find you by email address or Talkafe ID"
    Tip 2. See More > My Profile > Disable "Allow others to find you by email address or Talkafe ID"
    Tip 3. See More > Settings (Gear icon) > Add Friend > Disable "Allow others to find you by email address or Talkafe ID"

  • I would like to cancel my friend request.

  • How do I create a cafe?
    Click the [+] button at the bottom right of the cafe page to create a new cafe.

    ※ A cafe can only be created if you are logged in with a MalangMalaing Talkafe account.
  • How can I join a cafe?
    ▶ Search a cafe to join
    Click the magnifying glass button at the top left of the page to search for a cafe name by entering the whole or partial name of the cafe you are looking for in the top search area.

    ▶ Receive an invitation from a friend to join
    You may join a cafe by receiving a cafe invitation from a friend.
  • How can I invite a friend to a cafe?
    Click the invite button which is shown during the initial cafe creation, or click the member tab, and then click the invite button (icon that looks a face) that is shown at the top right to invite a friend.
    There are three ways to invite a friend to a cafe.

    ▶ Invite a friend via MalangMalang Talkafe
    Invite a friend to a cafe by selecting a friend within the friend list of the MalangMalang Talkafre.
    However, a friend that has been banned twice or more in this cafe cannot be invited. If a friend has refused the invitation before, then he/she cannot be invited as well.

    ▶ Invite other cafe members
    You can invite other members of the cafe that you have joined to the current cafe.
    Click 'invite other cafe members' and select the other cafe that you have joined.
    Once you are on the cafe member page, select the member you wish to invite.

    ▶ Share invitation link
    Click the share invitation link, and then click the 'copy' in the pop-up to copy the link and paste it somewhere else.
    You may also click 'share' to post or send the link via external app.
  • How can I write a new post in the cafe?
    On the main page of the cafe you joined, click the button shaped as a pen to write a new post.
    You are able to write up to 10,000 characters, and you can include multimedia such as pics/videos as well as your location.
  • How can I cancel an invitation?
    When invited a friend by mistake, click the cafe member tab and click the 'cancel invitation' button to the right of the friend that you wish to cancel on the 'invited friends' page.
  • How can I change the cafe's privacy status?
    The cafe admin can change the privacy settings by going to 'settings' at the top right of the main page > set the privacy level of the cafe at the 'privacy setting' menu.

    1. Open cafe
    Anyone can search and find the cafe and view the posts.

    2. Open cafe name only
    Anyone can search and find the cafe, but postings can only be viewed by members.

    3. Closed cafe
    The cafe and the postings are closed. You can only join via invitation.

    You can change the settings by having the admin activate the 'join approval' at the bottom of the privacy settings so that membership can only be made available by the approval of the admin or the sub admin.
  • How can I add a sub admin?
    The admin can add a sub admin.

    Go to 'settings' at the top right of the cafe main page > Click the 'add sub admin' button.
    From the cafe member list, check the member you wish to select as sub admin, and then click 'add' to add him/her as a sub admin.

    You can uncheck a selected sub admin to relieve him/her from the sub admin position.

    The sub admin has the privilege to cast out a member, approve join requests, as well as change the cafe name/image/explanations.
  • How can I delegate the admin position?
    You can delegate the cafe admin privileges to another member.
    1. Go to 'settings' at the top right of the cage main page > click 'assign admin'.
    2. From the list of cafe members, select one member and click 'confirm' at the top right to complete the admin delegation.

    ※ A cafe admin with at least one member must delegate the admin position to leave the cafe or withdraw from the MalangMalang Talkafe service.
  • How can I change the cafe notification settings?
    'View more' > 'settings' > 'set cafe notification' to change settings.

    'Settings' at the top right of your member cafe > set cafe notification settings in the notification tab.
  • What is a cafe keyword?
    Set a keyword that fits the cafe's characteristics so that when users search the keyword, your cafe will have more exposure to recruit more members.
    Cafe keyword setting is done as follows.

    ▶ Adding Cafe keyword
    1. Press 'Settings' on the left of the Cafe main screen > 'Manage Search' > Enter and register keyword.
    2. Register by clicking the 'complete' button.

    ▶ Deleting Cafe keyword
    To delete a registered keyword, click the edit button at the top right of the keyword management page.
    Click the [X] button to the right of the keyword that you wish to delete.
  • How can I leave a cafe?
    You can leave the cafe through the following path.

    Manage Cafe or Leave Cafe > 'Leave Cafe'

    When leaving the cafe, you can choose whether to receive re-invitations and delete all posts that you have written.
  • How can I delete a cafe?
    You can delete the cafe if there are no members except the admin.
    'Settings' on the left of the Cafe main screen > Manage Cafe
    Click the 'delete' in the pop-up that appears to permanently delete the cafe.
    A deleted cafe cannot be restored.
  • How can cafe members add me as a friend?
    You can change the settings so that cafe members can add you as a friend.
    You may also change the settings so that cafe members are not allowed to add you as a friend.

    1. 'View more' > 'settings' > click 'cafe add friend settings'.
    2. From the cafe list, choose to allow or block friend adding.
    3. After checking either allow or block friend adding, click the confirm button at the top right to complete the settings.
  • How can I ban a certain member of the cafe?
    The admin and sub admin can ban a member.
    1. Click the 'member' tab on the cafe main page.
    2. Click the menu button to the right of the member you wish to ban, and select 'ban from cafe' to ban that member from the cafe.
  • How can I search for a post in the cafe?
    You can search for posts in the cafe.

    1. Click the magnifying glass at the top right of the cafe main page.
    2. Enter at least 2 characters in the search engine, and then posts with those characters will appear.
    You may access the posts with the search words you want.
  • How can I delete a post or comment?
    The writer can delete his/her own post or comment.
    Click the menu at the top right of your post(or comment)'s details page, and then click delete to complete deletion.

    * The admin can also delete a post or comment if he/she deems it to be inappropriate.
  • How can I report another user's post or comment?
    Is there an inappropriate post or commment in the cafe?
    You can report that post or commment to the admin to request its deletion.
    Click the menu at the top right of the post's details page, and then click report.
    Choose a reason for the report, and then click confirm to complete your report.

    After completing the report, a notification is sent to the cafe admin, and then the admin will handle the post or comment.
  • How can I chat with a member in the cafe?
    You can chat with other cafe members.
    Member on the left of the Cafe main screen > Select Member Profile > Chat

    If you chat with a cafe member that is not a friend, he/she will automatically be added as a friend.
  • I would like to share posts published on the cafe.
    Press the menu button on the top right of the Post Details screen, and then press 'Share' to share it with friends or chat rooms.
  • I would like to see all pictures of cafe posts at a glance.
    Press the flower-shaped album button on the top of the cafe to see pictures at a glance.
  • How is a cafe recommended?
    ▶ If you participated in cafes
    Navigate to cafes within the 'Interest' category of the cafes I have participated in > Recommend top 30% cafes based on number of members

    ▶ If you didn’t participate in any cafe
    Recommend top 30% cafes based on number of members (among all cafes)
  • I would like to bookmark a cafe that I visit often.
    From cafe list, click the menu button[≡] of the cafe to bookmark > Add to Bookmark
  • I would like to set a cafe post to notice.
    Only the Admin or the Sub admin can set a post to notice.
    Press the Settings on the top right of the post's detail screen, and then press 'Set as notice'.
  • Can I send files, video files and audio files?
    You can send documents, videos, audio, images and zip files on Talkafe.
    Sent & received files are displayed on both PC & mobile version.
    You can send files by selecting them pressing the Send File icon in the chat room, or by dragging them to the chat window.

  • What is a Talkafe account?
    Talkafe account allows you to use you email account as your ID to check Talkafe users.
    Should you change your device or phone number, login with your Talkafe account to upload your previous information.
    (However, the chat content will only be kept on the device, so the chat history may be deleted.)

    ▶ Information you can upload from Talkafe account
    : Friends list, recommended friends list, hidden friends list, blocked friends list, received or purchased mobile coupons, and profile info

    ▶ Caution
    Talkafe accounts can only be used with one phone number.
    You cannot use the same account with two different phone numbers.
    If you join as a new member with a different account and link the previous phone number in use, then the previous Talkafe account will automatically be unregistered.
  • I forgot my MalangMalang Talkafe password.
    If you have forgotten your password, then please follow the steps below to reset it.

    1. 'View more(···) > settings > go to 'MalangMalang Talkafe account' and click 'find password'.
    2. Enter your registered Talkafe email address to receive a certification email.
    3. Check the email, and check the certification code that has been sent.
    4. Enter the certification code to the MalangMalang Talkafe page to reset a new password.
  • I would like to delete my MalangMalang Talkafe account
    If you want to delete your account, 'See More(···)' > 'Settings' > 'Unregister'

    Once you unregister from MalangMalang Talkafe, all data such as your profile, purchase history, points earned, and chat history will be deleted permanently.
    If you wish to delete your account after you have lost your phone, then please send our customer service a certificate that verifies you are the owner of the phone.
    The name of the certificate may be depending on your carrier.

  • What is email certification?
    Email certification is used to check if the registered email account can be used so that you can join as a member.
    You can use Talkafe without email certification.

    ▶ How to certify email
    1. 'View more(···) > settings > go into 'MalangMalang Talkafe account' and click 'receive certified email'.

    1. Email ID that is not certified cannot be used on the PC version (to be provided).
    2. To find the password, you need to verify your email so that the certification number can be sent to your email.

    3. Email verification is required if you use ‘Save conversation’.

    Please check the below if you don’t receive the verification code confirmation email on email verification.
    1. Re-check your email address
    2. Check other folders than Inbox, such as Spam folder
    3. Check if spam filters are enabled & disable filters

    Email certification may not be possible due to the following:

    1. Account was created with a false email address upon joining
    2. Joined with a random email address that is not in use
    3. Email no longer valid due to email service termination or email unregisteration

    Please delete and reinstall MalangMalang Talkafe if you have lost your password. Be careful as the chat history and data will be deleted permanently.

  • Can I use a single account on multiple smartphone devices?
    MalangMalang Talkafe does not allow logging into a single account on multiple devices.
    Existing device will be logged out if another device logs in using the same account.
    But on PC version, you can log in with your email and use the same acoount.
